The voice stems from our childhood, society, patterns that we tend to repeat. The first step to a greater awareness of self is beginning to tune yourself in to the dialog that plays in your mind. Recognize that you are not the voice in your head. Start to say kind things that are loving and thoughtful.
When we judge other people, we are judging ourselves. Learning to quit the inner mean critic can help you calm the judging mentality on to others. If you find yourself comparing yourself a lot to other people, ask yourself how it makes you feel. When we judge other people we put up a wall between them and us. We put our insecurities into the judgment. When you become self aware and full of self-love you will not longer look to others for approval. Judging becomes a thing of the past because you recognize that no good can come of judgment.
If you are looking to improve your mood, consider smiling a lot more. When we smile we feel good. The act of smiling releases endorphins, which are the feel good feelings in the brain. Smiling can uplift other people and help them feel good. And when the people around you feel good, you feel good. Learning to laugh and play is a perfect way to allow you to smile more.
